Alison and Drex both grew up in Alaska, so when she emailed me about photographing her wedding, I was excited to meet a native Alaskan couple. Alison and Drex met in high-school while both preforming in the play Willy Wonka. When I asked them what their favorite thing about each other was, here was their response, “Our favorite thing about being with each other? Just having someone to talk to, laugh with, and cry on. There’s something about knowing that you have someone for everything that makes relationships so incredible. We have two dogs so we spend lots of time at dog parks and outside and I wouldn’t have that any other way. We’re also big fans of road trips and camping.
My heart skipped a few beats when I read Alison’s response to her favorite things about Drex…. “Ah this is a hard one because the easy answer would be “everything”. The way he can give me just one look and it can make the entire day shine a little brighter. The way he makes me laugh, which is often, and just the ease of being together. Being with him is as natural as breathing. Cheesy, but absolutely true. ” Can you not tell how IN LOVE this woman is?
Drex had an equally heart-warming response about his favorite things about Ali… “I have several favorite things about Ali. The number one would probably be her personality. She is so lively and a joy to be around. Second would have to be her smile, it has a life of it’s own. And thirdly her eyes, she has some of the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen, they are so bright and full of color.” By the way, Ali’s eyes are GORGEOUS!
Their intimate wedding of close family and friends was beautiful and Camas Meadows was the perfect location to showcase their love.
